Skylduverkefni 1:
Vampires do not all look alike. Some of them wear black suits or gowns and look smart while others dress like you and me. Vampires are people who can live forever and they do not age in appearance. They are afraid of sunlight because if they go out during the day; they will burn and turn into dust! Therefore, vampires must sleep in dark graves or coffins during the day and be awake at night.
Dracula, Lord of Darkness, was created by the author Bram Stoker and is still the most famous vampire of the world. In this book we learn that wampires cannot be seen in mirrors because they have no souls.
Vampires live on a diet of fresh blood. If you get bitten by a vampire you become one if the vampire feeds you his or her own blood. Vampires must keep drinking blood to survive. They can drink fresh blood from animals but to be healthy and very strong; they need to feed on humans. Blood gives the their strenght and supernatural powers. Vampires can climb walls like lizards, move very quikly and even control people with their voices! Some are able to become bats and fly.
In some legends, vampires cannot enter a house unless they are invited inside.
